The data of Transposon Insertion Sites in the database is obtained from using a high-throughput inverse PCR method or splinkerette method. We cloned and sequenced independent insertion sites from tumor and then added these sequences to the database. Then, by using public UCSC mouse genome server, we positioned these flanking sequences in the mouse genome and identified candidate genes.
In addition to transposon insertions, retroviral tagging systems are used for mouse mutagenesis. In this databse, users can also search the results of cancer-gene screening by both SB transposon system and retroviral tagging system. The more information about retroviral tagging is stored on NCI's RTCGD.
