Transposon Insertion Site Databse (Cancer)

Purpose of the Database

Retroviral and transposon insertional mutagenesis in mouse tumors provides a potent cancer gene discovery tool. To manage multiple high-throughput insertional mutagenesis screening projects, we developed the Transposon Insertion Site Database.

Searching the Database

The information in the RTCGD obtained from sequence comparison by using public databases UCSC genome mm9 browser (Mouse July, 2007). The data based on the previous genome assembly mm8 (Mouse Feb., 2006) is also available at Transposon DB mm8.

MCGP has developed three web search tools to help you analyze the information within the Transposon Insertion Site Database:

• The Easy Search allows you to query the transposon integration sites using the mouse gene symbol of gene name.
• The Model Search helps you to obtain transposon insertion site information based on tumor models and/or tumor types.
• The Interaction Search helps you to find gene-to-gene interaction. It displays the list of genes which reside in the same tumor to your gene of interest.
• New Transposon Insertion Site Database was updated based on UCSC mm9 (Mouse February, 2006) on August 1, 2006.

The Transposon Insertion Site Database is updated regularly.
